The China Daily recently ran a surprising article: as Chinese women become more influential in the workplace and amass more wealth, the unfortunate trend is for them to toss their etiquette in the gutter. Low end clothing and proper manners have been replaced by designer clothes and shoes and a total disregard for those around them. Hopefully, this trend will be quickly stopped. They say recognizing you have a problem is the first step, and it seems that many of these women do realize that their manners are wanting, as several etiquette schools have popped up around the country. These schools remind the women that it is impolite to litter, cut in lines and spit. Instead, they are taught how to dress tastefully, balance their work and family lives and improve their communication skills. Further information about these Chinese etiquette schools for women can be found in the China Daily’s article about the trend here.
